Why boxing?
Because people of any height, weight, body type, age and gender can do it, boxing is a sport that anyone can participate in. Boxing is a tremendous workout, it’s fun and empowering. Some of the many benefits include weight loss, increased agility, muscle tone and great overall fitness.
Is this club for serious fighters or can anyone join?
Everybody is welcome to join, we have students of all ages, skill levels and fitness levels, each with individual goals.
Do I have to spar?
No, sparring or doing sparring drills is always 100% optional.
I’m not in very good shape. Can I still take the class?
Of course, that’s the point! You can start in the beginner’s class no matter what your fitness level is and work at your own pace.
I’m a girl. Will I feel out of place in the class?
We currently have female students and they are welcome in all classes, however if you would feel more comfortable, you have the option of taking the women’s only class.
What equipment do I need? What should I wear?
Wear comfortable workout clothes i.e. t-shirt and shorts and clean indoor running shoes or boxing shoes. The only required equipment is a pair of hand wraps and bag gloves(10 oz. are recommended) If you choose to take part in sparring or sparring drills, you will also need a headgear, mouthpiece, groin protector and 16 oz. gloves. All equipment is available for purchase at the club.
